A Prayer to St. Sophia on Behalf of Parents

St. Sophia, the mother of Sts. Faith, Hope, and Love, is an incredible example of a martyr whose martyrdom was not to be killed herself, but to watch as her daughters were tortured and executed. Three days later, the Lord took her to be with Himself and them. (You can read the full story here: https://www.oca.org/saints/lives/2020/09/17/102638-martyr-sophia-and-her-three-daughters-at-rome) I wanted to write a prayer to encourage my friends whose children are struggling in the present strange circumstances. God sees your valiant work, and He is there to strengthen and comfort both you and your children. Good strength! I am praying for you!

Holy Mother Sophia, you endured witnessing your own precious daughters' martyrdom. You supported them and strengthened them as they gave their lives for the sake of their Heavenly Bridegroom through torture and death. Our God gave you the strength to both witness and support this incredible sacrifice, as you called your children forth to the Kingdom of Heaven. Come now speedily to the aid of those whose children are suffering in this terrible pandemic, whether from disease or from fear or from uncertainty and separation from friends. Beseech the Lord our God to imbue these parents with His supernatural strength, that they may represent to their children His peace and the undying hope that lies only in Him. Holy Mother, ask for these parents words of comfort and loving actions that will give their children confidence in the Lord's presence. And by your mighty prayers, speedily deliver all children and all people from illness, fear, worry, and insecurity. May our good and loving God hear your prayers on our behalf and have compassion upon His creation. In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
