Seeking to Cultivate Faithfulness

With the advent of my husband's long-awaited new job--the fervently prayed-for beginning of his career in medical billing--I am feeling an intensified pressure to sort out my responsibilities and fit each of them into its proper place in my schedule. I've just finished reading Sally Clarkson's wonderful book Own Your Life, and I'm now going back through and journaling in response to the questions at the end of each chapter. I wrote the paragraph below in response to the second question at the end of Chapter 1, "What does it mean to cultivate faithfulness?"
I think cultivating faithfulness means lovingly pursuing the roles that God is calling me to right now. He is calling me to be a servant to my husband, a homemaker and cook, a servant to Zuko and Philip (our rabbit and guinea pig), a writer, and an administrative assistant. I need to seek His wisdom to balance each of these roles, which at times feels like an impossible task! At the same time, in one way or another, I am accomplishing them all, by His grace! I want to really see each of these callings as sacred, as a way to serve the Lord and to make His presence and His beauty known. The real struggle is to see each role as the divine calling that it is, not to see them as burdens and things to be merely "gotten through."
